Last night in ATL visit

Well today was another great day at Saddleback's WIRED Small Group Conference.  It has been an amazing couple of days.  I have not only learned so many things, but have really been spiritually refueled.  My problem with most ministry conferences is that they always try to sell you things...Well this one so far has been great and has not been a big marketing ploy.  Today was a great day of learning more about small group ministry and creating your own curriculum.  Come to find out, I've been doing the same thing Sadleback has been doing.  The great news is that I learned several new things to improve it.  I can't wait to try it out in the fall.
I also got the chance tonight to spend some time with my cousin Andy and my Uncle and Aunt.  Its not too often that I get to really see them so it was  great to have dinner with them.  My aunt Karen made Mexican and it was awesome!  Then we went and watched Andy tryout for Summer League Baseball for Lakeside(Atlanta) baseball.  He did a great job and it would be a major crime if he didn't make it.  He did great in the field and lined some ropes to the outfield.
I then got the chance to go hangout with my counter part of Ace and Gary.  It has been almost a year since me and Adam really hung out.  It was great to catch up with him.  It also reminded me that I need to keep in better touch with some people.
So one more day of Small Group learning...and then often to Orlando with my Beautiful Bride for our One year Wedding Anniversary trip.
We get to go see my grandparents tomorrow night and then get 8 days of Disney and Universal!!!!!!!!!
Jessica really deserves sometime off as do I....So it will be an awesome trip.  I can't wait!!

Another night to Remember my Brother

Last night I had the chance to attend The UGA Campus-wide Candle Memorial Ceremony at the Chapel on
North Campus for students and faculty that have passed away
during the past year.  It was a very moving ceremony.  They  read each name, followed by the toll of a bell and lighting of a candle.
It was weird being with all of Michael's close friends and not having Mikey around.  Its now almost been 5 months and at times it doesn't seem real.
For me it was great to be able to hang out with all of his friends.  Some I have know for twenty plus years, some a few years and others just a couple of months.  To hear their stories and to hear how Michael impacted their lives is priceless.  I hope and pray that don't let this slip by and that see how Michael enjoyed life, loved everyone, and tried his hardest to live for God.

"But you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness."

1 Timothy 6:11

Finished with 1st semester..and now onward!

I have just finished my final in New Testament.  That was a final I wish not to repeat.  It was one of those exams that was just jammed up with tons of information...had some map questions, some scripture IDs, multiple choice and True false...and then two essays.  I felt i did decent....but as you all know....you never know really how the professor grades until you get it back.  Oh well...Its behind me and now onward to Athens, Atlanta, and Orlando....

Just a moment ago I received an email from Hogan from the David Crowder Band thanking me for an email I sent to them a while ago about my brother.  Tomorrow, I am meeting my parents in Athens for a memorial service at UGA and dinner with Michael's professors.   It will be another tough time....I haven't been back to Athens since we packed Michael's belongings up.  I am looking forward to seeing my parents as well as Michael's professors and close friends.  It will be another time to reflect on the impact my brother made during his time here on earth.

Then onto Atlanta for the Sadleback Church Conference "Wired" for small group ministry....
then onto Orlando for VACATION and the celebration of one year with Jessica!!!!
