Early Birthday

Next month is my 30th birthday.....

We have a timeshare on Disney property so for my birthday we are going with my parents down to Orlando.   The big plans for the trip will be Braves spring training.   Spring training is something that I have always wanted to go to...and so we get to go for a couple days while also enjoying Disney and Universal.

So last night Jessica decided that I could go ahead and get my birthday present since it is a hard item to find in stock.  She got me a Nintendo Wii.  It was actually the last one in Charlotte.  And today in return I got her a Wii Fit for an early Valentines present.  Which I found after calling 15 stores...and it was the only in Charlotte!

Now it won't replace my Xbox 360, but so far it is a great way to get off the couch and have fun.

Now if we can only find Mario Kart in stock!

Taking a step back in Ministry...learning from the past

The past couple weeks I have been reading Mark Oestreicher new book Youth Ministry 3.0.

It has helped me to take a ministry evaluation of my Sunday nights.   It has been a good but tough eye opening experience!

During the next couple weeks, I'm working on changing some things on Sunday nights and I will also be giving my take on MarkO's book.

Getting back in touch

As I posted in a blog a couple months ago...its been a tough last year.  Between losing my brother and Jessica having a miscariage, the last year was pretty rough.  And for me who is a people person, it has been tough.  I pretty much went into hiding.  Part of it was good and part was bad.  I had no idea how to deal with things so I cut myself off from a lot of people.  It has also been hard for me in ministry.  Its been hard to be my cheerful self.  And I just want to appologize for that.  I know that I have not been available at times.  I know that sometimes I havent returned calls, txts, or emails.  But I had to do what I had to do.  I just have had to take time to myself.  I needed time to heal.  I needed to deal with things.  I never thought this would be me, but after all this time, I finally am starting to get back to my old self.  So I hope that I havent offended or hurt anyone by this.  But please understand...I've never been through anything like this and had no idea how to deal and cope with it.   But if I have please contact me.
